Rocky River Finally Got a Steakhouse: Pietro's Old River Is Open

Rocky River has never had a shortage of Italian food. A good steak was the harder ask. Pietro's Old River Italian Steakhouse & Bar is now open at 19070 Old Detroit Rd, and it is going after both at the same time.

The soft opening was earlier this month, and the early word has been loud. One reviewer said what a lot of people were thinking: "we finally have a good place to get a steak in Rocky River." Another kept it simpler. "Best chicken parm and filet I have had in a very long time."

The room already had a life

If the address rings a bell, there is a reason. This is the space Stino da Napoli occupied for 34 years. Chef Agostino Iacullo opened it in 1991 and closed it on December 20, 2025, when he retired. For a lot of west siders, that room was anniversaries, first dates, and the table you asked for by number.

Taking over a space like that is a little like buying the house on the street everybody knows. The bones are good. The neighbors are watching.

Who is behind Pietro's Old River

Pete Bosinger, who has been running Corleone's Ristorante & Bar on Broadview Road in Parma since 1995. Corleone's started as a 14-seat pizza shop, grew into a 100-seat restaurant with a patio in 2002, and built a wine list north of 150 selections. He is not new at this. Just new to this side of the river.

Kelly Zacharias, a Parma city councilwoman posted after the soft opening that the new space is "absolutely beautiful" and that everything her table tried was delicious. Take a politician's review how you like, the Google reviews say the same.

What is on the menu

Right now, a limited menu, with the full menu still to come. What people are ordering skews exactly where the name points: chicken parm, the filet, pasta, and a real bar program. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday from 3 to 6, bar and patio only.
