The Fairview Food Festival Comes August 8

Thirty dollars, your appetite, and comfortable shoes. That’s all you need to enjoy the Fairview Food Festival.

On Saturday, August 8, the Fairview Park Culinary Mile turns into a walkable world tour called Tastes from Around the World. Your $30 passport gets you tastes at the best spots along Lorain Road, no reservations, no driving between courses.

The lineup:

Parking is free, compliments of McGowan Insurance (20595 Lorain).

Your passport also enters you to win up to $500 in restaurant gift cards, which would cover next year's passport roughly sixteen times over.

Why it matters: this is the kind of event that keeps nine independent kitchens busy on a Saturday in August. Mark Boeppel, director of the Fairview Park Chamber of Commerce and a longtime member of Buzz Nation, has helped turn it into one of the fastest-growing events on the Westside.

Expect hundreds of neighbors on the sidewalk, plates in hand, quietly ranking everyone.

Our only advice: pace yourself. Reilly's isn't going anywhere, but your appetite is.
